Lower Rec Hall Renovation Journey

What an amazing result we see today from some pretty humble beginnings. Take a look at the photos here of our new Family Room and Children’s Room areas within our renovated Lower Rec Hall!
Where It All Started:
Some necessary maintenance work on the Rec Building meant moving the current Office location, at least temporarily, and the former Pigeon Loft convenience store building was selected. This created an opportunity to re-think both the Office permanent location, as well as potential better uses for the Lower Rec Hall space, including turning the majority of the building into a seasonal space, with then significantly reduce winter heating costs beyond the washroom area, which is open year round. Heating the larger parts of the Lower Rec Hall for winter use as an Office has always carried with it a high operating cost. These are two key reasons that drove the consideration of the Office move to the vacant old-store location along the park’s main entrance road, and opposite the guard shack.
